Lonnie Jones scored six goals, whileÂ
Jordan Brown added four and
Kendall Sapp and
Elliott Johnson III both pitched in three as Hampton defeated Bethany College 26-2 in a match at the U.S. Lacrosse Complex on Saturday.

Hampton (6-4) never trailed in the contest as Jones scored his third of his six goals with 0:04 left in the first quarter to take a 6-1 lead. The Pirates wouldn't look back as they lead the entire game.

The Pirates would dominate the second quarter of play by outscoring Bethany 8-0. Johnathan Napier would aid with an assist to Brown, as he put his first of four goals thru the net with 2:02 left in the half to give Hampton a 14-1 advantage.

Jones scored twice in 23 seconds to close the third to give Hampton a 19-1 lead. His second goal allowed Hampton to break the school record for most goals scored in a game for the second game in a row.

Hampton outshot Bethany 62-22 and held a 64-24 advantage in ground balls. The Pirates forced 34 turnovers, and dominated face offs 29-3 in the contest.

Pierce Johnson,
Josh Square,
Michael Lawrence and
Nathan Brungot chipped in two goals for Hampton (6-4) while Derian Williams-Sturdivant and
Baron Edmondson chimed in with one each.Â

With his six goals on Saturday, Jones tied the single-game school record held by Elliot Johnson who tallied six against Chowan on April 4, 2018. Williams-Sturdivant broke the single game assist mark of five by Jones earlier this year against SUNY Poly with his seven helpers.

The Pirates will finish their season on the road against Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkhill, NY April 27 at 2pm.
