BUFFALO, N.Y. – Luca Fahmer took a back-heel pass from Madeline Beaulieu just under five minutes into the match for what turned into the lone goal on the day as Canisius defeated Hampton 1-0 on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Beaulieu took a crossing pass and redirected it to Fahmer who put one into the left corner of the net for the Golden Griffins first goal.  Senior goalie
Maya Andrews made eight saves on the day for Hampton keeping the hosts at bay the remainder of the contest. Canisius outshot Hampton 12-3 in the game.
Hampton finishes off a three-game road swing to start the season on Wednesday in Jersey City, N.J. facing Saint Peter's University in a 4pm kick.
SCHEDULE CHANGE
The home matchup with East Carolina scheduled for Sept. 5 has been cancelled. Hampton will host Navy in its first home match on Sept. 2 at 4 pm then off until Sept. 11 when they host Richmond also at 4 pm.
