JERSEY CITY, N.J. – A goal at 59:37 by Madison Greenberg proved to be the lone tally on the day as homestanding Saint Peter's defeated Hampton 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

Following a scoreless first half, one that saw Hampton outshoot the hosts 9-1, the Peacocks got Greenberg on a breakaway and she put it in the lower left corner of the net for the only goal of the game.

Hampton outshot Saint Peter's 16-8 overall but could not get one past goalie Victoria Scarratt in the defeat.  This is the third straight 1-0 game for Hampton (1-2) to start the year.

The Lady Pirates will start a homestand on Monday, Sept. 2 at 4pm taking on Navy at HU Soccer Complex.
