HAMPTON, Va. –
Kiaya Jeusi and
Brianna Anderson each drove in three runs and had two-run home runs apiece as Hampton split a Sunday doubleheader with Hartford winning the nightcap 12-4 in six innings and losing the opener 4-0.
In the nightcap, the Lady Pirates got rolling with a two-run second inning as
Janae Lyles singled and went to second on a groundout. After moving to third on another groundout,
Lexi Lomax singled in Lyles for an early 1-0 lead. Â
Mo'ne Davis beat out an infield single that moved Lomax to third and she then stole home for a 2-0 advantage.
Hartford scored two in the top of the fourth on a two-run single by Kiana Harris to tie the game.
In the fourth, Hampton (7-2) put up a three-spot as with one out Lyles singled to right and Anderson followed with a two-run shot to right-center.Â

Kennedi Bedell stole second and scored as Davis singled to third to lead 5-2.
The Hawks trimmed the deficit to 5-4 in the top of the fifth with two runs coming on a Danielle Rocheleau home run to right-center.
Hampton broke the game open with a five-run bottom of the fifth.Â
Skylar Chavez walked, stole second and went to third on a single by Tiara Washington before scoring on an error. Jeusi followed with a two-run blast to dead centerfield to score Washington. Anderson then walked, stole second, advanced on a groundout and scored on a Lomax single to right field. After swiping second, Lomax scored on a single to right by Davis. Gonzalez was hit by a pitch and both her and Davis swiped a base before a groundout ended the explosion.
The Lady Pirates finished it in the sixth as Washington singled and pinch-runner Ynediah Kilby scored on a double to right-center by Jeusi. After a groundout moved Jeusi to third, Anderson flied out deep to right field to plate pinch-runner
Samyah Richardson for the run-rule win.
Noelle Doan pitched a complete game in game two allowing three hits and striking out six. Davis had her first three-hit day going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Lomax, Lyles, Jeusi and Washington all had two hits for Hampton, while Lomax scored two and also drove in two.
In game one, Julianna Kocenski threw a complete-game three-hitter as the Lady Pirates had singles by Chavez, Jeusi and a double by Anderson for their hits in the 4-0 loss.
Hampton returns to action on Friday hosting Delaware State (Noon) and Marshall (2pm) in the Hampton Classic.
