SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Hampton University women's soccer team closed out its season with a 2-0 loss to USC Upstate on Tuesday night.
USC Upstate got on the board at the 27:45 mark where Campbell Gibson dropped a pass to Jane Bossler who blistered a shot into the right lower corner of the net for a 1-0 advantage. The hosts pushed the lead to 2-0 barely two minutes into the second half as Bossler hit Ashley Finn who tallied the eventual clincher at 47:08.
Hampton was outshot 18-10 in the game, but outshot the hosts 9-8 in the second half.
Sydney Johnson recorded seven saves for Hampton.
