BUIES CREEK, N.C. --
Jett Duffey scored his second rushing touchdown of the game with 2:10 left as Hampton pulled out a 28-21 win at Campbell on Saturday afternoon.
Chris McKay started the scoring with a two-yard run to put the hosts up 7-0 at the nine minute mark. Hampton tied the game as Duffey scored on a seven-yard run to cap a seven-play, 74-yard drive with 23 seconds left in the first.
CJ Freeman provided the only scoring of the second quarter on a three-yard run for a 14-7 Campbell lead with 10 minutes left in the half. Hampton evened the game as
KeShaun Moore recovered a fumble and ran 16 yards at the 10:59 mark at 14-all.Â
Axel Perez gave Hampton a 20-14 lead after a pair of field goals from 32 and 35 yards. Campbell took a 21-20 lead as Dylan Earney found Jalen Kelsey on a 42-yard pass with 6:16 left. Hampton responded on the next series going 10 plays for 75 yards with Duffey finishing it on a one-yard run with 2:10 remaining.
Duffey was 19-of-31 for 231 yards and ran for a team high 51 yards along with his two touchdowns.Â
Jadakis Bonds caught eight passes for 110 yards, while
Ali Shockley topped the defense with 14 tackles.
Hampton closes its season on November 20 hosting North Alabama at 1 pm
