ASHLAND, Va. -- The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced its 2020-21 Academic All-State team this morning with six Hampton University student-athletes being recognized on the team.
Every college and university, including NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, USCAA and independents in the state had the opportunity to submit student-athletes to be honored. Schools could nominate up to six with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.Â
A total of 220 student-athletes from 37 schools were nominated.
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
