GREENSBORO, NC - The Hampton Pirates men's basketball team made a second half charge, but lost to North Carolina A&T 67-58 on Wednesday night.
Raymond Bethea Jr. paced the Pirates with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while
Marquis Godwin added 10 points and six rebounds to join him in double figures.
The Aggies used a late run to go up 17 at halftime. In the second half, Hampton was down by 25 at the 11:42 mark but came roaring back on the strength of a 19-1 run to only trail by seven with 4:31 left in the game on a 3-pointer by Godwin to trail 60-53. That was as close as Hampton could get down the stretch.
Hampton will play again on Saturday when the host Presbyterian at 5:30 pm in the Convocation Center.
