VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The Hampton University Track and Field team headed to the Virginia Beach Sports Center February 11-12 to compete in the NSU Invitational.

Otis Slayton took first place in the men's long jump with a 7.25-meter mark.

In the men's 500-meter dash, Hampton had four runners finish in the top five.
Josiah Hill (2
nd) ran a career-best time finishing at 1:03.34.
Jeremiah Hill (3
rd) also finished with a career-best time of 1:04.00. Right behind him was
Noah Langford, who also notched a career best time in the event, running 1:04.90. Rushshane Fullerton rounded out the top five with a 1:05.04, a career best time for him in the event.

The men's 4x400 relay team earned first place. The relay team, featuring
Moffat Wanjiru, Langford, Je. Hill and Jo. Hill crossed the finish with a time of 3:13.46.

The Pirates had two top-five finishers in the women's 200-meter dash. Amira Aduma (2
nd) and Jaydea Carter (4
th) both finished with career-best times in the event with 23.87 and 24.39 respectively.

Jahnelle Saunders leaped into first place in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.97 meters.

The women's 500-meter dash saw Hampton finish with three runners in the top-five. Dejah Grant finished first with a career-best time of 1:14.19. Jordan Mozie (second place) also ran a career-best time of 1:14.48. Kyna Robinson (fourth) crossed the finish line with a career-best time of 1:15.52.

Grant, Mozie, Robinson and Aduma brought the women's 4x400 relay team to second place, running a 3:49.90.

Jailyn Raines and Grant finished first and second place in the women's high jump event, with both jumpers posting a 1.62-meter mark.

The Pirates head to Blacksburg to compete in the Virginia Tech Challenge Saturday, February 19.
