GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Lady Pirates fall on the road to conference rival North Carolina A&T 68-51 on Saturday afternoon.
Madison Buford scored 14 points (6-7 FG) in the Lady Pirate effort.
The Hampton jumped out to a 17-10 lead after the first quarter holding North Carolina A&T to just 3-12 shooting in the period. The Lady Pirates kept up their stout defensive effort, extending their lead to as many as 13 points during the second quarter, en route to 31-20 lead at halftime. The Aggies were held to just 2-10 shooting in the second quarter and 5-22 from the field overall in the first half.
Hampton would lose their command in the game, as North Carolina A&T seized the momentum and would tie the game at 41 all at the end of the third quarter. The Lady Pirates could not get their shots to fall, as the Aggies pulled away in the fourth quarter and cemented the win.
The Lady Pirates are back in action Sunday, February 20 as they take on Longwood at 4 p.m.
