Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Princess Anne, MD. – The Lady Pirates split Wednesday's doubleheader against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on the road. Game one slipped away from the Pirates by a single point, but the Pirates bounced back clinching game two 5-1.
 
Game 1 Score: Hampton 5 - UMES 6
How It Happened:

• The Hawks picked up a first-inning lead following a double down the left side, scoring two runs by Garcia and Kresley to open the game. 
• Hampton was unable to muster up anything in the first two innings, the first six pirates were sent back to the dugout.
• The Hawks took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning as Garcia homered to center field. Ekstrom scored a go-ahead RBI for UMES taking the game to 4-0.
• At the top of the fourth inning Seniors Janae Lyles (Waldorf, MD) and Kiaya Jeusi (Woodbridge, VA) scored unearned runs each on a fielding error by center field. (4-2)
• The bottom of the fourth inning turned allowed UMES to extend their lead to (6-2).
• Hampton responded in the seventh inning with three runs, capitalizing on a throwing error by the UMES defense but it wasn't enough to steal the win from the Hawks. (5-6)

Game 2 Score: Hampton 5 - UMES 1
How It Happened:

• Focused forward, the Lady Pirates quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Junior Mo'Ne Davis (Philadelphia, PA) and Senior Janae Lyles (Waldorf, MD) reached on a throwing error by the third baseman.
• Oglesby drove in the first unearned run for UMES. (2-1)
• The Seniors put up some insurance runs for the Pirates as Casey Walker (Bristow,VA) and Samyah Richardson (Chesapeake, VA) extended HU's lead by adding two unearned runs to the scoreboard. (4-1)
• Junior Kennedi Bedell (Columbus, GA) followed suit, scoring the Pirate's final unearned run at the top of the fourth inning to secure the win for Hampton.

 
The Pirates return to action at home on Saturday, April 2, for a doubleheader at 12 PM and 2 PM against Longwood University
