Box Score Buies Creek, NC – Strong pitching effort propels Lady Pirates Softball to a win over Campbell Sunday afternoon at Nisbet Tennis Center.
Game 1 Score: Hampton 3 – Campbell 2
How It Happened:

• The Pirates placed their first two runs on the scoreboard at the top of the third inning from Junior Kennedi Bedell (Columbus, GA) and Mo'Ne Davis (Philadelphia, PA) on a fielding error by Campbell's first base giving Hampton an early lead. (2-0)
• At the bottom of the fifth inning, Campbell managed to put up two runs tying the game at 2-all. (2-2)
• The Pirates were able to capture the win in the sixth inning. Senior Emily Kepple (Dayton, OH) hit an RBI single to left field, allowing Senior Samyah Richardson (Chesapeake, VA) to run home after advancing on a fielding error to seal the win. (3-2)
• Senior Emily Workman (Kingston, TN) pitched five innings for the Pirates allowing four hits. Senior Kiaya Jeusi (Manassas, VA) won the pitching battle allowing no hits.

 
The Pirates return to action at home on Friday, April 15, at 3 PM against North Carolina A&T.
