Williamsburg, VA- The Pirates competed in the 2022 IC4A-ECAC Championships at The University of William & Mary May 14-15^th as several student-athletes looked to qualify for regionals.

"To come in 2nd place at the ECAC Championships knowing that we didn't bring our whole team is a huge accomplishment," said head coach Maurice Pierce. "We have extremely talented athletes on our team that always show up in big meets. We now look forward to the NCAA Regionals next week."
 
Oluwatomilyao Akintunde (Hamburg, NJ) had a phenomenal day in the field events for the Lady Pirates, setting a new school record in the women's shot put with a throw of 15.20m (49 feet, 10 ½ inches). 
 
Amira Aduma (Hampton, VA) set a new facility record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.45 to clinch first place. Aduma has already qualified for NCAA regionals in the 400 hurdles and long jump. 
 
Jordan Mozie (Upper Marlboro, Maryland) followed suit by capturing a 1^st place finish in the 800m clocking in at 2:06.38. 
 
Jaydea Carter (Pembroke Pines, FL) secured a 2^nd place finish in the 100m hurdles running a 14.23.
