ROCK HILL, S.C. (Nov. 15, 2024) … Hampton University sent two women's cross country runners to the 2024 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships held at the Winthrop Farm on Friday and came out with a pair of solid finishes.
Freshman Peninah Mutisya finished 27th out of 251 runners covering the 6k course in 21:20.5, while senior Jordan Mozie ran a 24:09.6 to finish 188th.
"A good performance for both young ladies in a strong regional field. Coach (Moise) Joseph did an excellent job preparing them both. Our top runner, Peninah Mutisya, showed that she can compete with some of the best distance runners in the region. Mozie showed her toughness at longer distances. They represented Hampton well and I look forward to the indoor track season with them," said Hampton University head coach Maurice Pierce.
