HAMPTON, Va. (March 27, 2024) – The Pirates track & field teams will compete at two different meets this upcoming weekend. The Raleigh Relays take place from March 28-30 in Raleigh, N.C., and the Florida Relays will last from March 29-30 in Gainesville, Fla.
Raleigh Relays
This meet is highly regarded as one of the biggest on the East Coast and has major implications on who qualifies for the NCAA Championships. It features many high-level athletes across a countless number of schools.
The men's javelin and women's shotput kick off the meet on Thursday, at 9:45 a.m. A tentative schedule is posted

Florida Relays
The Florida Relays will showcase college teams from all over the United States from Southern California to Nebraska to Harvard.
The women's hammer throw is the first field event on Friday (11:00 a.m.) and the women's 4x800m is the first track event (12:00 p.m.). The tentative schedule is shown

Last Week's Meet
Damali Williams broke the women's discus throw school record at the Phoenix Invitational last Friday in Elon, N.C. The 51.12m toss grabbed first place in the event and surpassed Carol Woodside's previous record (46.63m) that had held for 40 years.
Floyd Tucker notched a second-place finish in the pole vault at 4.55m which was .03m higher than
Trey Clark's mark in 2019.
Jordan Mozie won the 1500m with a time of 4:37.05. In the men's 200m, freshman
Antoine Spencer crossed the line in 21.03 seconds.
Abria Smith won the shot put with a distance of 14.30m.
Both the men's and women's 4x100m and 4x400m teams won their events.

Kailyn Alexander, and
Maya Hanks (47.40) were the teams for Hampton in the 4x100m.
In the 4x400m, the women that ran included

Maya Hanks (3:48.15) and the men were

Antoine Spencer,
Abraham Evans and
Deondre McIntosh (3:21.53).
