HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 22, 2025) … The Hampton University women's soccer team finishes their 2025 home schedule with a noon kick on Thursday against the Elon Phoenix.
This is a makeup of an originally scheduled contest from October 12 that was postponed due to a threatening nor'easter.
Hampton (5-9-1, 0-7-0) comes in after a tough 2-1 loss to Northeastern on Sunday. The Huskies scored first and Hampton responded 37 seconds later on a free kick as
Makayla Wade's low line drive found its way to
Jayda Sutton who touched it into the back of the net to even the match at 1-1 at 54:22. Northeastern scored the winner at 77:42 to escape with a 2-1 win.
Behind a pair of second-half goals, Elon (9-2-4, 3-2-2 CAA) won its third consecutive CAA match Sunday, defeating Towson (4-5-6, 2-3-3 CAA) on Senior Day at Rudd Field, 3-1. Isa Murdock had a goal and an assist to help propel the Phoenix to the win.

Avery John has a .719 save percentage and a 1.88 goals against average in 15 starts. She had a season-high 10 saves against Monmouth last Thursday. Freshman
Annika Kleffmann started the first match of her career at UNCW and has a save percentage of .706 having played in five matches this season.
ABOUT ELON
The Phoenix have been solid in the net as they ran off seven straight shutouts, spanning 716 minutes of action and 34 days. Elon has only allowed 10 goals all season, while the next lowest total in the CAA is Monmouth, Hofstra, UNCW and Charleston with 17 each.
Murdock and Grace Gelhaus lead Elon in goals scored with six each, while Murdock leads in points (18) and assists (6). Katie Bisgrove has started 14 matches with a sparkling .859 save percentage and a goals against average of 0.71.
