Hampton falls to Towson in second match

HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 23, 2025) … The Hampton University volleyball team dropped match two with Towson in a back and forth affair.

The Pirates got on the board first in the first match when Morgan Warren started Hampton off with a service ace. The two teams then traded blows early in the set, before Towson was able to take a 10-4 lead courtesy of a 5-1 run. Hampton wouldn't go away quietly, as Katerina Pappa and Jaya Rimm each deposited kills in the first set, but it was ultimately Towson taking set one 25-12.

In the second set it was all Pirates early. Rimm and Racquel Frazier recorded kills, and after a few Tiger mistakes, Hampton led 9-4. The Pirates continued to extend that lead after a 6-2 run, Hampton led 15-6. Pappa then buried home another kill followed by an ace, and Hampton led by nine at 18-9. Towson quickly stormed back with a 8-1 run of its own to close the gap to two. Following a Frazier kill to lead 21-17, the Tigers recorded the next eight points to take set two 25-21.

Rimm started the scoring for Hampton in the third set with a kill, and Pappa added one of her own to help the Pirates take an early 7-5 lead. The two teams then went back and forth with Hampton clinging on to a 15-12 lead at the media timeout. Towson bolted out of the break with an 8–1 run to take command of the set and win 25-20.

The Pirates were led by Frazier's seven kills on the day, while Pappa buried five of her own. Morgan Warren led the Pirates with 17 assists and Maria Clara Andrade recorded a team best six digs. Lillian Campbell was dominant at the next recording a game high four blocks.
