Alvine Dah-Zossu with a little over three minutes remaining in the contest provided Hampton's goal in a 4-1 loss to CAA Southern Division leading UNCW on Sunday afternoon.
Dah-Zossu took a free kick from 35 yards out and served it into the 18-yard box where it went off the head of a UNCW player and onto the head of Jennings who flicked it into the right side of the net at 86:40. The goal was Hampton's first in CAA play this season and a team-best fifth for Jennings. Her five goals are tied for third most in a single season with Kennedy Peace who did it in 2017.
UNCW got on the board once in the first half on a goal from Reese Bodas at 29:12. The hosts pushed the lead to 2-0 as Hailey Longwell scored the first of her two goals on the day. She made it 3-0 at 73:06 to start a spurt of two goals in 115 seconds with Lindsey Lenhard capping it at 75:01 for the 4-0 lead.
Hampton (5-8-1, 0-5-0) returns home to start its final home stand taking on Elon on October 12 at 1 p.m at Powhatan Field in Norfolk.
