HAMPTON, Va. (Nov. 16, 2025) … In the season finale, Hampton University battled on even terms throughout but came up short against William & Mary in three sets. The Tribe prevailed 25-23, 25-19 and 25-11.
With an audience of 234 on hand for the match, the Pirates gave the fans plenty to cheer about in the tight match against Coastal Athletic Association rival William & Mary.
In a back-and-forth first set, William & Mary prevailed 25-21. Neither team was able to build a lead of more than three. Tied 19-19, the Tribe outscored the Pirates 6-to-4 to win the first set 25-23. The second set was as close and hard-fought as the first. Neither team was able to pull away and the set was tied 15-15. But a 10-4 run gave the Tribe a 25-15 win in the second set. William & Mary took control of the final set, winning 25-11.
Racquel Frazier had seven kills for the Pirates and
Katerina Pappa totaled nine digs. The Pirates had seven team blocks against the Tribe led by
Gabriella Prather and Frazier, who had four each.
