HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 25, 2025) … After an unexpected week off due to a winter storm in the Hampton Roads area, the Hampton University women's basketball team will start a three-games in six days homestand to close their home schedule on Tuesday at noon against College of Charleston.

ABOUT HAMPTON
Hampton last saw action on February 16 in a 62-60 loss at Monmouth. Tyra Kennedy had a career-high 15 points to lead three in double figures for Hampton. Aisha Dabo and Jasha Clinton added 13 points apiece for the Pirates who had a last-second shot go long that would've forced overtime.

Clinton hit a pair of free throws in the first half to break the 1,000-point mark for her career. She enters this week with 1,009 career points.

As a team, Hampton is averaging 57.7 points per game and allowing 67.8. Clinton leads the team in scoring averaging 14.1 points per game and in steals with 51, while Dabo is next at 7.9 points per game and Jenae Dublin is at 7.5 points per game and a team-best 5.2 rebounds per game.

ABOUT CHARLESTON
The Cougars started their swing through the 757 on Sunday with a 78-76 win at William & Mary. Charleston trailed by 12 points after one quarter and responded with a 29-12 second quarter to take a 40-35 lead at halftime. Taryn Barbot had 25 points to lead three in double figures for the Cougars.

Leading the team in scoring are the Barbot sisters. Taryn leads in scoring at 14.6 points per game, steals with 56, while second in rebounding at 7.2 per game and assists with 61. Taylor is next in scoring at 11.8 points per game and leading in assists with 100. Lara Rokohol is just off the double figure scoring pace at 9.8 points per game and leads in rebounding at 9.5 per contest. Charleston is averaging 72.9 points per game and allowing 55.9.

This home week continues on Friday night as the Pirates host Hofstra at 7 p.m. and concludes on Sunday at 2 pm for Senior Day against Northeastern.
