HAMPTON, Va. (February 8, 2025) … The Hampton University women's tennis team will open the 2025 portion of their schedule on Sunday afternoon as they visit UNC Greensboro for a 1 p.m. match.

These teams met last season for the first time as Hampton took a 4-3 win at home on March 4. Masa Mitic won the clinching point with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 6. The Pirates took the doubles point with wins at the one and three spots.

Hampton enters after a successful fall season as they finished second in the HBCU Championships and saw the doubles team of Diana Starodubtseva and Serena Bryan ended the fall ranked 99^th nationally as they finished 6-1 in the fall.

Starodubtseva was 7-1 in singles, while Melis Sakiroglu was 5-2 to lead the Pirates.

Hampton will next be in action on February 23 at Mt. St. Mary's.
