HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 28, 2026) … The Hampton University men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game Saturday morning to Wagner 14-6.
Anthony Bardonille Jr. got the Pirates on the board in the first minute of the game, ripping a goal from the left corner to start the scoring Saturday. Wagner quickly regrouped after the Pirates goal and scored three goals in a row to take a 3-1 lead just five minutes into the game.
Hampton responded scoring three goals over the course of the first frame capped by a Reed Shaw goal with 14 seconds left to take a 4-3 lead into the second frame. The second quarter proved to be the complete opposite of the first as both teams turned their defense up a notch. Wagner netted two goals in the frame, before Maliik Wood scored his second goal of the game to help tie the game at 5-5 going into the break.
Out of the half, Wagner exploded, scoring five straight goals to take a commanding 10-5 lead with just three minutes remaining in the third frame. Bardonille Jr. added his second of the game with 2:00 left in the third, to bring the game within four at 10-6.
The fourth quarter proved to be all Seahawks as they rattled off three goals in the frame to eventually down Hampton 14-6. Wood and Bardonille Jr. led the way for Hampton with two goals a piece while Miles Lancaster recorded 15 saves on the day.
