Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 8, 2026) … For the second consecutive day, the Hampton University women's tennis earned a win 4-3, this time over Big East opponent Marquette.
The Golden Eagles earned the first point of the afternoon when they earned the doubles point by taking down Hampton 6-4 and 6-1 in the one and two spots, but it was Hampton responding strongly in singles.
In the one spot Serena Bryan won her second consecutive match when she won 6-4, 6-3. Toffee Ghorab also won her match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 in the three spot, while Chelsea Chakanyuka went three sets in dramatic fashion to give Hampton their third point with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 win.
With three points, Hampton needed just one more to clinch a win for the second consecutive day. In the five spot, Samira Khazieva did just that for the Pirates. She earned a win in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) to push Hampton past the Golden Eagles.
