VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Mar. 17, 2026) … The Hampton University women's tennis team took down Frostburg State Tues. afternoon 6-1 to earn their fifth consecutive win.
The Pirates started the match off strong winning doubles matches at the two (6-2) and three (6-1) spots to earn the first point of the afternoon.
In singles, Toffee Ghorab earned the first point in the third spot taking down her opponent in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Tanya Midzi was just as dominant as Ghorab, posting a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the two spot. Chelsea Chakanyuka ( 6-4, 6-2) and Samira Khazieva (6-1, 6-2) won wins in four and five spots, while Melis Sakiroglu took down her opponent in three sets with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 win.
Hampton has now won four consecutive matches since the 2023-24 season.
