ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 8, 2026) … The Hampton University women's tennis team earned a 7-0 win over Edinboro in their first match of their spring break tournament Sunday morning. 

Hampton started the match winning the doubles points after Tanya Midzi and Khazieva won the one doubles 6-1, followed by Toffee Ghorab and Chelsea Chakanyuka earned the win in the two slot 6-0. 

The Pirates continued to assert their dominance in the singles matches as well, seeing all six starters earn a win. Serena Bryan took down her opponent 6-1, 6-2, while Midzi cleaned up the two singles with a 6-2, 6-1 finish.

Chakanyuka played the tightest match of the morning as she won in straight sets 6-4, 7-5. Ghorab and Khazieva each won their matches in straight sets as well, while Melis Sakiroglu earned a win by forfeit.
