Biography

2017 – SENIOR SEASON
Appeared in 78 sets as a setter for the Lady Pirates…second on the team with 229 assists…registered at least 20 assists on two occasions…finished with 22 assists at Delaware State on October 6…contributed nine digs twice, against Winthrop on September 8 and at George Mason on September 16.

2016 - JUNIOR SEASON
Saw action in 21 matches in 2016 at defensive specialist…had 45 digs, 10 assists and four aces on the season…season high seven digs in season opener against Northern Arizona.

2015 - SOPHOMORE SEASON
Played in 86 sets, seeing action in all 25 matches for the Lady Pirates… was second on the team in digs, averaging 2.33 per set… had 200 digs overall… had double-digit digs nine times, including each of the season’s last three matches… had a career-high 18 digs against Delaware State on Nov. 6… added 14 digs in the regular season finale at Delaware State… was also second on the team with 14 service aces… had two aces in a match three times: at VCU (Sept. 15), vs. Morgan State (Sept. 25), and vs. Coppin State (Sept. 27)… had three kills on the season, one each against William & Mary (Sept. 12), vs. Coppin State (Sept. 27), and at Morgan State (Oct. 23)… had a career-high four assists against Norfolk State on Nov. 8.
 
2014 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Saw action in 17 matches for the Lady Pirates, playing in 29 total sets… averaged 1.07 digs per set… racked up a season-high 13 digs against UC Davis (Sept. 20)… also had a season-high three assists in that match… also had three assists at Northern Colorado (Sept. 19)… had her lone service ace of the season against Norfolk State (Sept. 26).
 
CHINO HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
Played three years of varsity volleyball after being on the JV team as a freshman… won the Coaches Award and was named a Scholar Athlete as a freshman, on top of earning First Team All-Inland Honors… won the Coaches Award again as a sophomore, on top of the Sierra League All-Academic Award… won that award again as a junior, while also being named a Scholar Athlete… helped the team with the Sierra League title as a junior… was named First Team All-Sierra League as a senior, while also earning the Sierra League Outstanding Senior award and helping Chino Hills win its second straight Sierra League championship and making it to the quarterfinals on the CIF… was a MaxPreps AVCA National Player of the Week… has seven years of club volleyball experience… has been captain of club team Mizuno Long Beach.

Born Sept. 4, 1996… daughter of Sharlyn “Missy” and Mel Beard… has three siblings: Melissa (23), Myles (12), and Mycah (10)… cousins Candace and Carla Trimble are Hampton University graduates… cousin Carla was on the Hampton University softball team… was featured in the Chino Hills Champion and Daily Bulletin… currently undecided about her major.
