Hampton University junior Devyn Thompson was named HU Athlete of the Week following her outstanding performance this past weekend on the cross country course.

Thompson (Chicago, Ill.) paced the Lady Pirates cross country team this past Saturday, as they won their third straight HBCU Cross Country Invitational title in Cary, N.C. She completed the 5K course at the WakeMed Soccer Park in 19:31.50, her second-fastest time of the season, coming in sixth.

She was one of three Lady Pirates who finished in the top 10.
