Hampton University sophomore Kerissa Burruel was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance on the softball field this past weekend.

Burruel (Phoenix, Ariz.) went a combined 5-for-6 at the plate in Sunday’s doubleheader sweep over Howard, driving in five runs over the course of the two games. She was 3-for-3 with three RBIs – including her second home run of the season – in the first game.

In the second game, Burruel went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
