The Lady Pirates 4x400-meter relay team was named HU Athletes of the Week, following their performance to clinch the title in the 2013 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend.

The Lady Pirates ran a 3:42.18 to win gold in the 2013 MEAC Indoor Championships this past weekend, overtaking Maryland Eastern Shore and clinching their third straight indoor title. Senior Benita Taylor (Philadelphia, Pa.), sophomore Le'Quisha Parker (Silver Springs, Md.), senior Shantae Boney (District Heights, Md.), and junior Malekah Holland (Brooklyn, N.Y.) made up that squad.

Taylor and Parker also won individual MEAC titles; Taylor won the 800-meter run with a 2:09.00, while Parker ran a 24.17 to take the 200-meter dash.
