Hampton University sophomore Sulaiman Fareed was named HU Athlete of the Week following his performance in track & field competition this past weekend.

Fareed (Richmond, Va.) won the shot put at the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday with a mark of 16.16 meters (53 feet, 0.25 inches). He was also second in his flight of the discus throw, with a mark of 38.96 meters (127 feet, 10 inches).

He had one of three event titles for the Pirates over the weekend.
