Hampton University senior Claudia Calder was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance on the track this past weekend.

Calder (Kingston, Jamaica) had a hand in the Lady Pirates’ third-place effort at the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore, Md. on Friday and Saturday. She won the heptathlon with 4,876 points, while also helping the 4x100-meter relay team win gold with a meet-record 3:38.63.

She won the high jump and 800-meter run portions of the heptathlon.
