Hampton University junior rightside Vendula Strakova was named HU Athlete of the Week, following her performance this past weekend on the volleyball court.

Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) was named MVP of the North Carolina Central Invitational as she helped the Lady Pirates go 3-0 on the weekend. She hit .290 in 12 sets played over the weekend, totaling 67 kills, six service aces, 37 digs, and 10.0 total blocks.

She had a team-high 26 kills and a career-high 24 digs against Evansville on Saturday for her first double-double of the season.
