Hampton University junior rightside Vendula Strakova was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past weekend on the volleyball court.

Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) totaled 73 kills and hit .309 this past weekend in three matches for the Lady Pirates. She led the way with 26 kills against South Dakota State on Friday, hitting .488, and she added 25 kills on Saturday against Texas-El Paso, hitting .367.

She had double-doubles against UTEP (25 kills, 10 digs) and New Mexico State (22 kills, 10 digs), giving her eight for the season.
