Hampton University senior Nichelle Harris was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past weekend on the cross country course.

Harris (Rahway, N.J.) won the individual title at the Robert Shumake HBCU Invitational on Saturday after turning in a career-best 18:38.10 over the 5K course – becoming the only runner to dip below the 19-minute mark for the race.

Her effort led the Lady Pirates to win the team title at this meet for the fourth straight year.
