Hampton University senior forward Alyssa Bennett was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past week on the hardwood.

Bennett (Hampton, Va.) was named MVP of the Cal State Northridge Radisson Hotel Chatsworth Thanksgiving Classic after totaling 57 points and 24 rebounds in those two games, going a combined 26-for-52 (50.0 percent) from the floor.

She poured in 26 points and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds against Utah State on Friday, before scoring a career-high 31 points against Santa Clara on Saturday.

Bennett also had 23 points and 16 rebounds in Tuesday’s loss at UC-Santa Barbara.
