Hampton University redshirt-freshman guard Lawrence Cooks was named HU Athlete of the Week on Monday, following his performance this past weekend on the basketball court.

Cooks (Charlotte, N.C.) came off the bench on Sunday to score 12 points in the Pirates’ 101-95 double-overtime win over Winthrop on Sunday, going 4-for-7 from the floor and hitting his lone 3-pointer. He also had three rebounds and a steal in 26 minutes of action.
