Hampton University junior Chidi Okezie was named HU Athlete of the Week after leading the Pirates to their first MEAC indoor title since 2003 this past weekend.

Okezie (Philadelphia, Pa.) was on the Pirates’ 4x400-meter relay team that won gold and set a new MEAC record with a time of 3:14.22, and he also took home the MEAC title – and First Team All-MEAC honors – in the 200-meter dash with a 21.75.

He also came in second in the 400-meter dash after running a 48.52.
