Hampton University junior Jailynn Jackson was named HU Athlete of the Week for her performance in the pitcher's circle this past week.

Jackson (Virginia Beach, Va.) picked up a pair of wins and a save in the pitching circle this past weekend for the Lady Pirates, striking out a combined 16 batters in 14.2 innings pitched. She struck out eight in a win over Coppin State on Sunday.

On Tuesday, she fanned seven in the first game of a doubleheader against North Carolina A&T, before picking up her second save of the season in the second game.
