Hampton University senior rightside Vendula Strakova was named HU Athlete of the Week, following her record-breaking performance on the court this past weekend.

Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) hit .311 in two matches this past weekend, totaling 41 kills – becoming the program’s all-time career kills leader in the process. She broke the school record against Coppin State on Friday, racking up 22 kills in the four-set win to go along with 14 digs.

She added 19 kills in Sunday’s sweep of Morgan State. For the weekend, Strakova also totaled 11 aces.
