Hampton University rightside Vendula Strakova was named HU Athlete of the Week for her performance this past weekend, and also for reaching another milestone in her career.

In the Lady Pirates’ straight-set win over Delaware State on Friday, Strakova (Brno, Czech Republic) led the way with 16 kills and hit .448 for the match. That performance helped the Lady Pirates clinch the top seed in the MEAC Northern Division for this week’s MEAC Volleyball Championships.

Strakova was also named MEAC Player of the Year for the second straight season.
