Hampton University sophomore guard Malia Tate-DeFreitas was named HU Athlete of the Week for her performance this past week on the basketball court.

Tate-DeFreitas (Harrisburg, Pa.) helped the Lady Pirates to a 2-1 mark in last week’s three-game road trip, averaging 20.0 points per game and shooting a combined 24-for-61 (.393) from the floor. She hit six of her 19 3-pointers for the week.
 
She had a season-high 27 points on 12-for-24 shooting in Friday’s win at Penn.
