Hampton University freshman pitcher Allyson Babinsack was named HU Athlete of the Week for her performance on the softball field this past week.

Babinsack (Hampton, Va.) was a big part of the Lady Pirates winning six of seven games this past week, including a three-game MEAC sweep of Delaware State. She has won her last five decisions, and she struck out a season-high eight against Liberty on Tuesday.
 
At the plate, Babinsack is on a five-game hitting streak, and she drove in four runs in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Delaware State. She had two home runs for the week.
