Hampton University senior Margaret Wilkins was named HU Athlete of the Week for her record-setting performance on the softball diamond this past weekend.

Wilkins (Tustin, Calif.) extended her hitting streak to 14 games with hits in each of the three games against Maryland Eastern Shore this past weekend, in the process breaking the program record for career hits.
 
Through this past weekend, Wilkins has 232 career hits; the previous record holder, Maggie Wolfe (2004-07) had 231 career hits.
