Hampton University junior guard Malia Tate-DeFreitas was named HU Athlete of the Week after her historic performance this past weekend on the basketball court.

Tate-DeFreitas recorded the Lady Pirates' first triple-double since 2003 on Saturday in Hampton's 60-45 win over Bethune-Cookman, pouring in 13 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out a career-high 10 assists.

She also had four steals and two blocks.
