Hampton University sophomore Allyson Babinsack was named HU Athlete of the Week for her performance on the softball field this past weekend.

Babinsack won two games in the circle as the Lady Pirates opened their season with three wins at Gardner-Webb's Runnin' Bulldogs Tournament. In 14.0 innings of work, Babinsack struck out six and gave up just five runs.

At the plate, Babinsack went a combined 5-for-12, with three doubles and four RBIs.
