Hampton University sophomore Britney Smith was named HU Athlete of the Week for her performance this past week on the golf course.

Smith carded a 12-over 156 (79-77) to tie for the individual lead at the Women's Collegiate Championship this weekend, before she fell in a playoff to Alabama A&M's Dismary Marquez.

She has shot in the 70s in each of her last four rounds, and Smith has held at least a share of the individual lead in three tournaments this season.
