Hampton University junior guard Jericka Jenkins was named HU Athlete of the Week after her outstanding performance on the basketball court.

Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas), seeing her first action since Nov. 15 at South Dakota State, scored 17 points -- all in the second half -- on Saturday in a 68-52 win over Howard. She went 5-for-11 from the floor and made three of her eight 3-point attempts, and Jenkins also had a team-high six assists to go with three steals.

She also had five rebounds in a full 40 minutes of action.
