Hampton University junior guard Jericka Jenkins was named HU Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance on the basketball court.

Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas), the two-time reigning MEAC Player of the Week, connected on 12 of 21 shots for a season-high 30 points to lead the Lady Pirates to a 78-77 double-overtime win over Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne. on Sunday. Jenkins shot 60 percent from 3-point range (3-for-5) and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

She also hauled down four rebounds, stole three passes and dished out seven assists in Hampton's fifth straight win. Jenkins has scored in double figures in each of the last four games.
