Hampton University junior forward Melanie Warner was named HU Athlete of the Week after her outstanding performance on the basketball court.

Warner (Tallahassee, Fla.), the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, pulled down 10 rebounds, nine on the defensive end, with two steals and one blocked shot in Sunday's 78-77 double-overtime win over Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne. She also scored 13 points for her second straight double-double and her third of the season.
