Hampton University senior Racquel Vassell was named HU Athlete of the Week following her outstanding performance on the track.

Vassell (Irvington, N.J.) had a hand in winning three event titles on Friday at the New York City Gotham Cup at the Armory Track & Field Center. She won the 60-meter dash with a 7.61, before taking the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.46 and helping take the gold in the 4x400-meter relay after the squad ran a 3:45.59.

Vassell has won seven event titles so far this season.
